October 12, 2024 - The Stanislaus National Forest and 3FIA is pleased to announce renowned naturalist, author, and painter Obi Kaufman, will speak at the Stanislaus National Forest, Sunday, Oct. 13 beginning at 4 p.m. in support of his latest book, The State of Fire, Why California Burns. How do we live with fire? Kaufman tackles this very current issue in his latest book The State of Fire, Why California Burns where he presents fire as a force of regeneration rather than apocalypse. The State of Fire confronts one of California’s most pressing social and ecological challenges but offers a vision of the future founded in hope.
