November 30, 2024 – Fresno Police Department officials report that shortly after 2:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 28, 2024, officers from the Fresno Police Department’s Central Policing District responded to Pleasant Street and Fedora Avenue for reports of multiple gunshots fired in the area. ShotSpotter detected three separate activations near the 3600 block of North Pleasant Street. The first activation registered 15 rounds, while the second registered 27 rounds, and the third registered 5 rounds. Shortly after, a call was received reporting a shooting victim in the area.

When officers arrived at the scene, they located two gunshot victims. The first victim, 22-year-old Anthony Calderon, sustained a gunshot wound to his upper body and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim, a 28-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to his lower body and was transported to CRMC for treatment, where he is currently listed in stable condition. The third victim, a 23-year-old male, was there at the time of the shooting but was not injured.

The victims were standing outside at the apartment complex in the 3600 block of North Pleasant Street when a group of males approached them. For unknown reasons, someone from the group started firing at them.

Detectives have been canvassing the area for potential witnesses and surveillance videos to help identify the suspects. Detectives are asking anyone with information to please contact the Fresno Police Department.

This is the twenty-eighth murder of 2024. At the same time last year, there were thirty-two murders.
