December 11, 2024 - The Bass Lake Ranger District Fire Crews will resume prescribed fire operations today near the
Sugar Pine Railroad. Crews are planning to ignite approximately 10 acres along the 5S17 Road, adjacent to Highway 41, just north of the Westfall Forest Service Fire Station. Please see associated map for details.
If weather permits, operations will continue through Thursday, Dec. 12. Prescribed fire ignitions will, however, be paused until after the New Year following the week of Dec. 8.
Stay tuned for updates as favorable weather conditions continue to aid in #SNF fire management plans. Be prepared for visible smoke in these areas. Smoke may be visible from nearby HWY 41.
Signage will be posted to keep you informed about visible smoke and flames. Remember to use caution near burn sites and check www.airnow.gov for air quality updates. Be safe and stay connected for more updates by following U.S. Forest Service - Sierra National Forest or contact your local Ranger District office for details about specific burn projects.
