February 5, 2025 – Merced County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Monday, Deputy Ibarra conducted a traffic stop for vehicle code violations on Hillside Drive in Delhi. When Deputy Ibarra approached the car, he noticed loose ammunition in the open glove box. He also smelled Marijuana coming from the vehicle. He noticed loose Marijuana in the front passenger seat and a bag of processed Marijuana in the back seat. 

After a search of the car, Deputy Ibarra located a loaded unregistered firearm, an unloaded unregistered firearm, four loaded magazines, one empty magazine, two boxes of ammunition, and four pounds of Marijuana. 

The driver, identified as Alejandro Lopez, was ultimately arrested. When Lopez arrived at the Merced County Jail, he was found to have a controlled substance in his possession. Lopez was booked on various charges.
