TRAFFIC ADVISORY 
Full Twenty-Four-Hour Closure of State Route 59 in City of Merced 
Scheduled for February 19-20, 2025 

February 11, 2025 – MERCED COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct a twenty-four-hour full closure of State Route 59 for BNSF railroad repair work beginning Wednesday, February 19, at 4:00 p.m. through Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 4:00 p.m.

Portable changeable message signs (CMS) will be in place to alert the traveling public of detour routes and road closures. Motorists should expect delays and are encouraged to use alternate routes. 

This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment, and/or construction related issues.
