March 1, 2025 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that on the night of Wednesday, February 19th, 2025, just after 11:00 p.m., a deputy attempted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an obstructed license plate on Donovan Street in Jamestown.

The driver of the vehicle, who was later identified as 53-year-old Sean Bragg, failed to stop, and led deputies on a 32-mile pursuit into Groveland via Wards Ferry Road. Along the way Bragg ran stop signs, crossed double yellow lines, and drove with a disregard for safety.

Near Casa Loma Road, Bragg drove through a barbed wire fence and into a field, where his vehicle became stuck. Bragg fled on foot as Stanislaus County Helicopter Air-101 arrived overhead and assisted deputies to Bragg’s location at the edge of a field. After deputies took Bragg into custody, a record check revealed he had a felony and misdemeanor warrant and was on probation. During a search of Bragg’s vehicle, deputies found a glass pipe commonly used for smoking methamphetamine.

Bragg was transported to the Dambacher Detention Center and booked on the charges of 2800.2(A) VC – Evading a peace officer with disregard for safety, 11364 HS – Possession of controlled substance paraphernalia and his outstanding warrants.
