March 30, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that southwest patrol officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Fresno Street and McKenzie Avenue for a vehicle code violation. When officers contacted the occupants, the passenger was found to be holding an open container of alcohol and initially refused to exit the vehicle. Once the passenger complied, officers conducted a pat search and located a firearm concealed on the passenger. 

The passenger was found to be a convicted felon. He was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for several weapons charges. The driver was cited for the initial vehicle code violation and for not having an active driver’s license, which he had previously been cited for. The vehicle was towed.
