Former School Custodian Arrested
April 11, 2025 – Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, Placer County Sheriff’s detectives
arrested Timothy Paul Newman for violating Penal Code 647.6(a)(1) after he communicated inappropriately with a student. He was taken into custody at a residence in Loomis.
The arrest follows an investigation into reports of harassing behavior by Newman while he was employed as a custodian with the Loomis School District. District officials promptly notified the Sheriff’s Office when they became aware of the concerning conduct.
Based on our investigation, no additional victims are believed to be involved.
The safety of our children remains a top priority, and every report of inappropriate behavior is taken seriously and thoroughly investigated.
