Prescribed Fire Notification 

April 22, 2025 – Sierra National Forest officials announce firefighters with the Sierra National Forest (SNF) will be burning piles on the Bass Lake Ranger District. Of special consideration, SNF Fire Crews will be burning six acres at Little Church in the Pines, and another half-acre at Recreation Point near the Denver Church area. Officials have been notified. Additional burn areas include Sky Lake Camp, Yosemite Point, west of Rocky Point, for a total of 7.5 acres combined.

Throughout fiscal year 2025, SNF Fire Crews will continue prescribed burning operations as resources allow, taking advantage of optimal weather conditions. Visitors and residents are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling near controlled burn areas and avoid reporting burns from these projects to emergency services. Signs will be posted near active project areas.
