Beware of Ticks... It's LYME TIME! 

May 3, 2025 – Mariposa County Health & Human Services officials remind the community that it’s Lyme time.

Lyme disease is a bacterial infection that is spread by infected blacklegged ticks, these ticks are the most common ticks here on the west coast. According to the CDC, Lyme disease spreads when infected ticks attach themselves to a human or animal for more than 24 hours.

Preventing tick bites is the number one way to keep you, your pets and family protected from Lyme disease.
