May 16, 2025 – Madera County Sheriff’s Office officials report the Madera County Sheriff's Investigations Bureau received
a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children regarding Distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material activity occurring in Madera County. Detectives identified 27-year-old Madera resident Matthew Mark Collier as a suspect in the case.
On May 14, 2025, detectives, alongside the Central California Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations, executed a search warrant at a residence in the 900 block of Lassen Lane W. in Madera. As a result, Collier was arrested on multiple felony charges of possession of child sexual abuse material and is now in custody at the Madera County Jail.
The Madera County Sheriff’s Office remains steadfast in its partnership with the ICAC Task Force and is dedicated to protecting children by holding internet predators accountable.
Sheriff Tyson Pogue said, “There is no higher duty than protecting our children. Today’s arrest shows that internet predators will find no refuge in Madera County. I commend our detectives and our partners in the ICAC Task Force and Homeland Security Investigations for their tireless work. We will continue to marshal every resource to safeguard kids and bring offenders to justice—wherever they try to hide.”
