Caltrans traffic advisoryTRAFFIC ADVISORY 
One-Way Traffic Control for May 25-31, 2025 

May 23, 2025 – MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following one-way traffic control this week on State Route 49 (SR-49) and SR-140 for construction and maintenance operations. Work is scheduled as follows:

STATE ROUTE 49

  • One-way traffic control from the Mariposa / Tuolumne County line for utility work on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

STATE ROUTE 140

  • One-way traffic control from Hornitos Road to Cathay for utility work on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic at Fourth Street for banner work on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Lower Trower Road to SR-49 North for slope repair work beginning Wednesday, May 28, through Friday, May 30, 2025, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
  • One-way traffic control from Sweetwater Creek to Savage Trading Post for bridge inspection work on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials and construction related issues.
