June 5, 2025 – Mariposa County Library officials announce the start of the Summer Reading program. 

Summer Reading is always one of the biggest events at the Mariposa County Library each year. Participants can read throughout the summer to earn prizes! Our kickoff event will take place Wednesday, June 11 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Mariposa Branch, located at 4978 10th Street, and the Mariposa County Courthouse lawn.

This is for children and their families. While there, people can register for the reading program, enjoy live music, do some crafts, have their faces painted, enjoy free lunch for children (while supplies last) and take part in seed planting. To learn more, call 209-966-2140.

Prizes and activities at our branches are in place and will be advertised in those communities. Check with your local branch to sign up and take part!
