June 14, 2025 – Tuolumne County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Wednesday June 11, 2025, just before 2:00 p.m. in the afternoon, deputies made a traffic stop on a vehicle with expired registration and no rear-view mirror on the front windshield, in the area of Willow Springs Drive near Bonnie Court.

When deputies contacted the driver, 32-year-old Terry Ray of Sonora, a record check found he had a felony warrant for his arrest. A search of Ray’s person revealed a small amount of heroin in his pocket. During a subsequent search of the vehicle, deputies located a loaded handgun concealed beneath the driver’s seat. Further record checks confirmed that Ray was prohibited from possessing firearms.

Ray was transported to the Dambacher Detention Center where he was booked on the charges of 11370.1(A) HS - Possession of a controlled substance while armed, 25400(A)(1) PC - Carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle, 25850(A) PC - Carrying a loaded firearm in a public place, 29800(A)(1) PC – prohibited person in possession of a firearm, 30305(A)(1) PC - Prohibited person in possession of ammunition, and his felony warrant.
