Prescribed Fire at Lake McClure
June 15, 2025 – Mariposa, CA – CAL FIRE officials announce that the Department of Forestry and Fire Protection 
(CAL FIRE) Madera- Mariposa -Merced Unit (MMU) in cooperation with Merced Irrigation District (MID) will be conducting a vegetation management burn at Lake McClure on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at 8.00 a.m.
Approximately 50 acres of grass will be burned. The purpose is for the reduction of fuels to create a safe area at and around the peninsula designated for the launch point of the 4th of July fireworks show.
Fire crews will be in the area. Please use caution when driving.
