June 17, 2025 – Sonora Police Department officials report that on June 12th, at approximately 9:40 P.M., one of our SPD firearmOfficers saw a vehicle that was wanted in connection to an unrelated incident. The officer observed that the vehicle had a modified loud exhaust and expired registration.

The Officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and contacted 20-year-old Michael Greenway of Jamestown. During the course of the investigation of the traffic stop and the unrelated incident, Greenway’s vehicle was searched.

The Officer located an un-serialized semi-automatic pistol that had a loaded magazine concealed in the vehicle. Greenway was subsequently arrested for being in possession of an unserialized firearm, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, and carrying a loaded firearm concealed in a vehicle.

Greenway was booked at the Dambacher Detention Facility without incident.

It's important to remember that the individuals mentioned in this report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they've been charged with. All such charges are mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty. This principle is the bedrock of our legal system and should be respected by all.
