12-Year-Old Airlifted to Hospital After Setting Off Illegal Firework
June 23, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff's Office officials report that at around 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2025, TCSO Deputies were called to the 30600 Block of Markham in Visalia for a child with injuries from a firework.
When they arrived, Deputies learned a 12-year-old boy had sustained major injuries to his hand after lighting an illegal firework.
The boy was airlifted to a local hospital for immediate medical treatment.
TCSO Detectives are on scene continuing the investigation.
Sheriff Boudreaux would like to remind everyone to be very cautious around fireworks, as the Fourth of July holiday draws near. Fireworks can be incredibly dangerous and are always to be handled carefully. Accidents like this are 100% preventable.
