Homicide Investigation Update-Suspect Wanted 

June 25, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report that on Friday, June 20, 2025, at 2:09 a.m., officers from the Southwest Policing District responded to the 2200 block of South Plumas Street regarding a Shot Spotter event of three rounds fired. As officers responded, calls came in stating a victim of a gunshot wound was in the parking lot of the location.

Officers arrived and located 27-year-old Julian Garcia on the ground, unresponsive, suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. Officers and EMS personnel provided first aid and transported him to the Community Regional Medical Center for medical treatment. Unfortunately, Garcia was unable to survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased by medical personnel at 2:39 a.m.

Homicide detectives initiated an investigation into the shooting, where they learned Garcia and 41-year-old Raymond Ornelas Torres were involved in a verbal altercation inside the parking lot. During the confrontation, Torres shot at Garcia, striking him in the upper body. A murder warrant has been issued for Torres's arrest.
