July 14, 2025 – Fresno Police Department officials report two separate shooting incidents occurred in Fresno and a suspect has been arrested.

Shooting #1

On April 11, 2025, 9:15 p.m., officers from the Northeast Policing District responded to the area of Ashlan Avenue and Chestnut Avenue regarding shots fired.  On arrival, officers located two victims and began providing life saving measures. Both victims were transported to CRMC and in stable condition. A third unknown shooting victim fled from the scene and was never located.
Officers on scene observed two apartments which were struck multiple times by gunfire. After officers conducted a protective sweep of both locations to ensure no one else was injured, they learned that one of the residents was hosting a party when two unknown suspects arrived and opened fire for an unknown reason.  

Detectives were able to identify Jershawn Worthy as the shooter and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
 
Shooting #2

On July 6, 2025, at 9:39 p.m., Southeast Officers responded to several shots in the area of Sierra Vista Avenue and Turner Avenue. On arrival, officers located an unoccupied vehicle, with several spent casings and live shells located near the vehicle. Witnesses saw a male run away from the car, who was later identified as Jershawn Worthy. Detectives served a search warrant for Worthy’s residence and located a semi-automatic firearm with an extended magazine.

Worthy was arrested and booked into the Fresno County Jail for PC 246.3(A) – Willful discharge of a firearm, 29800(A)(1) – Felon in possession of a firearm 25850(A) – carrying a loaded firearm 25400(A)(2) – concealed carry on a person 32310(A) – possession of a large capacity magazine 30305(A)(1) – prohibited owner of a firearm
