Motorcyclist Dies Days After Crash

August 2, 2025 – Madera CHP officials report that on Sunday, July 27, 2025, just before 9:00 p.m., CHP Madera officers responded to a traffic crash, on Fairmead Blvd., south of Gordon St.

CHP Madera officers responded to the scene and learned the following:

A 64-year-old man from Fowler, CA was driving a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan (motorcycle), southbound on Fairmead Blvd., south of Gordon St.  A 33-year-old woman from Chowchilla, CA was driving a 2008 GMC Yukon, southbound on Fairmead Blvd., ahead of the Kawasaki.  As the GMC began to make a left turn towards a private driveway, the motorcyclist attempted to pass the GMC on its left side.  The Kawasaki collided with the left side of the GMC and the driver was ejected from the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno.  The motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.  The driver of the GMC and her two children, aged 10-years-old, and 8 months, were properly restrained and were not injured.

Sadly, the motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Think before you pass!  Passing other vehicles can be dangerous if not done safely.  Always use caution and follow these simple rules:

  • Pass only when it’s legal and safe
  • Use your turn signal
  • Check mirrors and blind spots
  • Never pass on curves or hills
