Man Drowns in Kings River 

August 4, 2025 – Fresno County Sheriff’s Office officials report that shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, a man in his 30s was in the Kings River at Winton Park when he went under water. Two citizens found him and pulled him to shore. Deputies and Cal Fire firefighters administered CPR. An ambulance transported him to the hospital where he later died.

He was not wearing a life jacket and had been drinking alcohol prior to entering the water.

This marks the fifth drowning in a Fresno County waterway in 2025. (4 river and 1 lake)
