August 4, 2025 – Placer County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday at approximately 5:30 p.m., deputies responded with lights and sirens to an attempted rape involving an adult victim at Dry Creek Park. While enroute to assist with establishing a perimeter and locating the suspect, a patrol vehicle occupied by two deputies was involved in a traffic collision at the intersection of Baseline Road and Walerga Road.

The Roseville Fire Department and AMR responded to the scene. One deputy and the other driver sustained minor injuries and are receiving treatment.

The collision is being investigated by the Roseville Police Department.

Deputies were able to successfully locate and arrest the suspect in the attempted rape. The investigation into the attempted rape remains ongoing.
