Kings River CLOSED to Boats, Jets Skis, Etc. for the Season 

August 16, 2025 – Tulare County Sheriff's Office officials report that due to current water levels and unseen hazards below the waters surface, the Kings River is now closed to Boats, Jet Skis, Other Motorized Watercraft.

The Tulare County Sheriff’s Office has determined that water levels and flow in the Kings River, through Tulare County, are not safe for motorized watercraft. Therefore, the Kings River (in Tulare County) will be closed to motorized watercraft until our next boating season.

Although the river is closed to all motorized watercraft, it remains open to other water recreation, such as swimming or floating. Please use caution and wear a Personal Flotation Devices when in the water.

TCSO Deputies will be in the area enforcing the closure.
