Homicide Investigation – Public’s Help Needed 

August 22, 2025 – Merced Police Department officials report that on August 3, 2025, at approximately 9:40 p.m., Merced Police responded to reports of a shooting in front of the laundromat in the 800 block of S Street. Upon arrival, officers located a Hispanic male who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The motive for the shooting remains under investigation. Detectives are actively working to identify those responsible and are asking for the community’s help.
