One-Way Traffic Control & Highway Closure for August 24-30, 2025 

August 22, 2025 – MARIPOSA COUNTY – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will conduct the following traffic controls on State Route 49 (SR-49) and SR-140 in Mariposa County. Work is scheduled as follows:

STATE ROUTE 49

  • One-way traffic control from Stumpfield Mountain Road to Tiptop-Usona Road for utility work on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

STATE ROUTE 140

  • One-way traffic control from the Bear Creek Bridge to the Yosemite National Park Boundary beginning Tuesday, August 26, through Thursday, August 28, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and on Friday, August 29, 2025, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  • One-way traffic control from Cobey Lane to the Bear Creek Bridge for utility work on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

  • Full highway closure from SR-49 South to SR-49 North for special event on Saturday, August 30, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Motorists should expect 5-10 minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. This work is scheduled to take place as listed, but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials and construction related issues.
