Merced Police Investigating Homicide on West 19th Street 

September 3, 2025 – Merced Police Department officials report that on August 18, 2025, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Merced Police Department officers were dispatched to the 300 block of West 19th Street for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, officers located 19-year-old Iran Hedrington suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, Hedrington succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

At this time, Merced Police Department Detectives are actively investigating this homicide. A vehicle of interest has been identified in connection with the case (photo provided below).
