Attempted Theft 

September 4, 2025 – Madera County Sheriff's Office officials report that on September 1st, Deputies responded to a theft in progress at Vulcan Materials on Highway 145 near the 41.

Upon arrival, Deputies witnessed the suspect, 54-year-old Martin Rushing, driving a skid steer and trying to flee the scene.

After multiple failed attempts to drive over dirt berms, deputies safely took him into custody at gunpoint.

Rushing was arrested and booked on multiple felony charges and two outstanding Madera County warrants.
