September 22, 2025 – Mariposa County Library officials announce the first ever "Library Con" will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2025.

Mariposa County, are you ready to unleash the hero in you? We are hosting our first ever "Library Con" at the Mariposa Branch on Saturday, October 4. This event brings a comic convention to our library setting. Comic Cons have become quite popular over the last several years.

This event pays homage to comic books, superheroes, films, and other media that are part of pop culture. It is FREE to attend, and there is no registration required.

The convention officially kicks off at 11:00 A.M. and ends at 4:00 P.M. During that time, there will be free face painting, selfie stations, a meet-n-greet with professional comic book artists, presentations, trivia, a costume contest, and more!

In addition, leading up to the convention, we will be welcoming artist Eben Burgoon, who will host a workshop on how to create comic books.
