September 22, 2025 – Oakhurst CHP officials report that the roads were slick over the weekend. 

Wondering why traffic was down to one lane on SR-41 at Serpa Canyon Road on Saturday morning?

A truck and trailer took the curve a little too fast on the freshly wet roadway and slid off down the embankment. Caltrans stepped in with one-way traffic control while the tow crew worked their magic to haul it back up.

The first rain of the season is sneaky, roads get extra slick as oils rise to the surface. With fall and winter coming, now’s the perfect time to check your tires and make sure they’ve got enough tread to grip the road. Think of it as your car’s “rain boots.”

Slow down, give yourself space, and keep the shiny side up!
