October 2, 2025 – Modesto Police Department officials report that on September 30, 2025, the Modesto Narcotics Enforcement Team (MNET), along with the Stanislaus County Probation and the Drug Enforcement Administration - Stockton (DEA), served a search warrant in the 3600 block of McReynolds Avenue as part of an ongoing drug sales investigation.

During the operation, a methamphetamine lab was discovered inside the residence. Due to its unstable condition, the home was evacuated, and the Stanislaus County Special Investigations Unit (SIU) responded to assist with hazardous materials due to their expertise in processing methamphetamine labs.

MNET investigators seized the following items during the search:

  • 13 pounds of methamphetamine
  • 14 pounds of DMT
  • 3 assault rifles
  • 11 handguns and rifles
  • Thousands of rounds of ammunition
  • $3,815 in cash
  • A meth lab and a DMT lab

Arrested: Kevin Wayne Holcombe, 61, was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on the following charges:

  • 30605(a) PC – Possession of an assault weapon (3 counts)
  • 29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of a firearm (14 counts)
  • 30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of ammunition
  • 11370.1 HS – Possession of a controlled substance while armed
  • 11379.6 HS – Manufacture of a controlled substance (2 counts: meth lab and DMT lab)
  • 11378 HS – Possession of methamphetamine for sale (2 counts: DMT and meth)
  • 11370.4(b)(1)(A) HS – Possession of over one kilogram of methamphetamine
  • 273a PC – Child endangerment
  • 11366 HS – Operating a drug house

This investigation and successful operation were made possible through the coordinated efforts of the DEA - Stockton, the Stanislaus County Probation Department, Stanislaus County District Attorney’s Office, Modesto Police Animal Control, City of Modesto Code Enforcement, City Building Inspector, Stanislaus County Special Investigations Unit (SIU), and the Modesto Fire Department Hazmat Team.
