October 19, 2025 – Mariposa County Library officials invite the public to a free showing of The Hitch-Hiker a 1953 classic.

Get your popcorn ready! The Red Cloud Library in Greeley Hill will be offering a free showing of "The Hitch-Hiker." This classic 1953 black and white film has a scary plot, perfect for Halloween.

It will be held on Thursday, October 30 at 6:00 p.m. and is free of charge. Simply because this is a thriller movie, this film is intended for a more mature audience.

The plot: while vacationing in Mexico, two men offer a ride to a hitchhiker who, after revealing himself as a homicidal maniac, tries to force the men to help him elude the police.

The Red Cloud Library is located at ​10332-C Fiske Road.
