October 27, 2025 – Modesto Police Department officials report that on October 20, 2025, the Modesto Narcotics Enforcement Team
(MNET), with assistance from the Stanislaus County Probation Department, served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Floyd Avenue, across the street from Somerset Middle School.
During the operation, investigators seized multiple loaded firearms, ammunition, and two explosive devices. One of the recovered firearms was found to be a fully automatic Uzi-style machine gun equipped with a silencer.
Joshua Reyes, 49, was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on $1,000,000 bail for the following charges:
29800(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of a firearm (3 counts)
30305(a)(1) PC – Felon in possession of ammunition
30605(a) PC – Possession of an assault weapon
33410 PC – Possession of a silencer
18715(a)(2) PC – Possession of an explosive device (2 counts), with an enhancement for being near a public school
