October 29, 2025 – Mariposa, CA – Manna House, Mariposa’s local food assistance organization, is calling on the community for urgent support as an increase in need is expected over the next month due to the anticipated EBT (Electronic Benefit Transfer) freeze.

With many local families relying on EBT for food and essential supplies, the temporary suspension is expected to create a sharp rise in requests for assistance. Manna House is preparing to meet this increased demand but needs the community’s help to do so.

“All it takes is a small contribution from each of us to make sure no one in our community goes hungry,” said Jenifer Canter, Correspondence Secretary. “We’re asking everyone who can to drop off food, diapers, or even pet supplies. Every bit helps.”
