November 1, 2025 – Sonora Police Department officials report that on October 29, 2025, around 3:45 a.m., officers with the Sonora Police
Department responded to the area of Oregon Street when a woman called 911 and disconnected after claiming to be a victim of domestic abuse.
Following a thorough investigation, officers determined that the caller, 66-year-old Teri A. Blaumer of Sonora, was the aggressor and had committed battery against a 72-year-old dependent adult victim who sustained multiple injuries during the incident. The victim also reported that during the incident, Blaumer placed a pillow over the victim's face in an attempt to asphyxiate him while making death threats against him. The victim was able to free himself, but encountered an additional punch to his face in the process. Fortunately, the victim did not sustain any serious injuries.
Officers transported and ultimately booked Teri Blaumer at the Tuolumne County Jail for felony attempted murder, felony domestic violence, felony threats, and felony elder abuse.
It's important to remember that the individuals mentioned in this report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they've been charged with. All such charges are mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
