November 5, 2025 - In response to the ongoing federal government shutdown and resulting delays in November CalFresh benefits, Merced County has rolled out an online community food resource map to help residents locate food assistance in the area.

The interactive map displays dozens of food pantry locations, food bank partners, and other community food distribution sites throughout Merced County. Each listing includes site details such as addresses, hours of operation, and contact information to make it easier for residents to find the help they need.

“The delay in CalFresh benefits affects more than 67,000 Merced County residents who depend on this program to put food on the table,” said Board of Supervisors Chairman Josh Pedrozo. “We are working tirelessly alongside our community partners to make sure no one is left behind during this challenging time.”

Residents are encouraged to visit the website and share it widely to help spread awareness of available food resources. The site will be updated periodically as additional resources become available. The County continues to work with local leaders, nonprofit organizations, and community partners to expand support for those affected by the federal shutdown.
