November 5, 2025 – Calaveras County Sheriff's Office officials report that Calaveras County Probation Department Officers along with Calaveras County Sheriff's Office AB 109 Deputies have had a very busy month in October enforcing compliance and ensuring community safety. Within the month, officers completed 100 high-risk field contacts.
These contacts resulted in the seizure of two firearms possessed by prohibited individuals, 130 rounds of ammunition possessed by prohibited individuals, two machetes, a baton, 40 hypodermic needles, 12 methamphetamine pipes, 228.11 grams of narcotics, 90 mL of narcotics, and 13.39 grams of psilocybin mushrooms.
All of the above contraband led to 16 arrests. Every day probation officers work tirelessly to provide rehabilitative services to clients; however, they provide equal attention to ensuring the safety of the community of Calaveras County.
