November 13, 2025 – Merced CHP officials report that on November 11, 2025, a Central Division K9 Officer and his canine partner, Jag, conducted a traffic stop on I-5 in Merced County that led to a major drug seizure.
During the stop, K9 Jag on his very first day on patrol alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the trunk compartment, uncovered approximately 20 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $272,400. Both occupants of the vehicle were taken into custody without incident, and the investigation was turned over to MAGNET (Merced Area Gang Narcotics Enforcement Team).
