On December 2, 2025, just before 3:30 pm., a CHP Madera officer attempted to stop a motorcycle for reckless driving on southbound SR-99 at Avenue 7. The driver had other plans and fled, initiating a pursuit.

The pursuit entered Fresno County, and the driver continued to drive recklessly. Due to public safety reasons, the officer terminated the pursuit. The investigation, however, did not end there.

Officers conducted further follow-up and obtained a warrant for the motorcycle. The next morning, the motorcycle was in the driveway of the registered owner’s house.

The vehicle was taken for 30 days for felony evading, and the investigation into the driver is ongoing.
