January 20, 2026 – Sonora Police Department officials report that on December 28, 2025, at 6:00 A.M., officers with the Sonora Police Department were dispatched to a business in the Timberhills Shopping Center for a report of a male subject breaking a glass panel. Officers on scene located 51-year-old Shawn Miles out of the Sonora Area. As officers attempted to detain Miles, he fled on foot, which led to a brief pursuit. Officers were able to apprehend Miles, who continued to resist as officers placed him into cuffs.

Miles was arrested for felony vandalism and resisting a peace officer.

It’s important to remember that the individuals mentioned in this report were arrested based on suspicion of the crimes they’ve been charged with. All such charges are mere allegations, and all defendants are considered innocent until proven guilty.
