Two Suspects Arrested Following Gun Disturbance and Pursuit

January 30, 2026 – Clovis Police Department officials report that two suspects have been arrested following a gun disturbance and CPD Gun Disturbancepursuit in Clovis early on Thursday afternoon. Just after 12:00 P.M., multiple 911 calls came into our Dispatch center reporting a disturbance in the area of Shepherd and Sunnyside, with gunshots fired. Within moments, officers were dispatched, our Drone First Responder (DFR) launched, and detectives responded.

As officers were coming into the area, our Real-Time Analyst saw the suspect vehicle at Shepherd and Clovis on camera and provided updates. An officer then noticed the suspect vehicle at Clovis and Nees. The officer attempted to pull the car over, but the driver failed to yield and a pursuit began. The pursuit ended at Willow and Nees when the driver made a left turn and collided with an uninvolved vehicle. Officers blocked in the suspect vehicle and detained two males without further incident. An adult in the uninvolved vehicle complained of pain and was treated by EMS on scene. During a search of the suspect vehicle, officers located two loaded handguns. One of the handguns had been reported stolen, and the other had no serial number.

Officers also responded to the disturbance location at Shepherd and Sunnyside where they located evidence in the parking lot of the public park. It has been confirmed that multiple gunshots were fired in the parking lot, but thankfully, no one was injured. Using video surveillance from our city camera network, DFR drone footage in real-time streamed to officers, and intelligence located by our Real-Time Analyst, this case was solved in less than an hour. At this time, detectives continue to process evidence and fully investigate the circumstances of this crime.

The suspect driver has been identified as 19-year-old Joshua Pleasant of Fresno. Pleasant has been booked into Fresno County Jail for several felonies including assault with a firearm, evading, and charges related to the handgun. A 17-year-old male juvenile was booked into Fresno County’s Juvenile Justice Center for several charges related to carrying a concealed loaded firearm.
