January 31, 2026 – Merced Police Department officials report that the DART Team continues to work proactively to keep our community clean and safe.

On January 29, officers with the MPD DART Team partnered with Thunderbird Maintenance, the City of Merced’s contracted graffiti-abatement service, to clean up the 1600 block of W. North Bear Creek Drive. Crews removed trash and debris and painted over graffiti along the cinder block wall in the area.

This cleanup is part of an ongoing effort. Additional coordinated operations are planned with railroad partners to address graffiti, trash, and encampments along the Union Pacific and BNSF railroad corridors.
