TCSO Long-Time Volunteer Dies in Crash, Wife Hurt

February 10, 2026 – Tulare County Sheriff’s Office officials announce the passing of long-time serving Volunteer in Patrol Jack Terrell.

Sheriff Boudreaux regrets to announce the death of long-time serving Volunteer in Patrol Jack Terrell, following a head-on crash on Monday morning on Highway 190 in the Springville area.

His wife, and fellow VIP, Lucinda, was seriously hurt and taken to a nearby hospital. She’s in critical, but stable condition.

Jack and Cindy have served as VIPs in the Mountain communities since 2005. They also served on the Sheriff’s Search & Rescue Team in the past with their two chocolate-colored Labradors.

In 2023, Sheriff Boudreaux named Jack Volunteer of the Year. Lucinda received the same award the following year.

Sheriff Boudreaux and the men and women of the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office offer deepest sympathies and pray for Cindy’s recovery.
