February 12, 2026 - North Fork, CA.– Sierra National Forest officials say the Bass Lake Ranger District, on the Sierra
National Forest, resumed pile burning operations at the Dutch Soda Hazard Sale project site, on Tuesday, February 11, following required approvals. Fire Management staff estimate prescribed burning work to continue through Mid-May or as weather conditions allow.

Residents and visitors in or near Arnold Meadow, Mammoth Lakes, and surrounding mountain communities may see smoke and flames due to a prescribed burn.

- • Please Do Not Call 911: If you see smoke or flames near the project area, please do not report it.
- • Visibility: Smoke may be visible from Tollhouse Rd, Auberry Rd, Hwy 168, and the https://ALERTCalifornia.org camera network.
- • Safety: Please use caution when traveling nearby and watch for fire crews and equipment on the road.
Fire management officials work with California Air Resources Board and San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District(SJVAPCD) smoke specialists to plan prescribed burns.
