March 10, 2026 – Mariposa County Library officials announce an upcoming library event focusing on using our own histories as a jumping-off point to imagine and begin poems, memoirs, or stories. "Writing Our Histories" will be led by Meg Beisner, a poet and college instructor. It will be held on Thursday, March 12 at the Mariposa Library, from 5:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Whether you've been exploring your ancestry through online programs or are fascinated by your relatives' family lore, this program is for you! We can use our pasts to understand how we became who we are, or to simply imagine more vividly how life was lived in the past.

This is free to attend, and there is no registration required. To learn more, call 209-966-2140. The library is located at 4978 10th Street in Mariposa.
