Supervisors along with local, state and national dignitaries celebrated this landmark event of the long-awaited expansion of State Route 41.
The groundbreaking showcases the growth and expansion of Eastern Madera County paving a new path forward for one of the most traveled expressways in the entire region.
Last month the Board of Supervisors unanimously approved the expansion project to widen SR 41 between Avenue 10½ and Avenue 15 to four lanes. The completion of the project is set for May of 2028. No existing lanes will be blocked or rerouted during construction.
During the ceremony Supervisor Chair Bobby Macaulay stated this project is, “The gateway to our home, this is a gateway to the most fertile ag land in California and the world, the gateway to some of the most vibrant recreational opportunities in California, this is our home and it’s the gateway to Madera County.”
