May 13, 2026 – Madera County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, May 12, 2026, at approximately
1:20 P.M., the Madera County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a potential threat to Yosemite High School. Deputies arrived quickly and completed a thorough sweep of the campus and the surrounding area. No evidence of any potential threat was located. The school was on lockdown during this portion of the investigation, but it has since been lifted.
Our detectives are continuing their investigation into the origin of the phone call.
Threats made to harm students are taken very seriously, regardless if the suspect intended to carry out the act.
