This Saturday, July 4th, downtown Mariposa comes alive for Mariposa County's America 250 Celebration!
July 3, 2026 – Join us on Saturday, July 4, 2026, as Mariposa County partners with the Mariposa Butterfly 
Festival and many of our outstanding community organizations to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the United States. Residents and visitors alike are invited to enjoy a full day of hometown pride, community spirit, live entertainment, local shopping, history, delicious food, and patriotic fun in the heart of downtown Mariposa.
The celebration begins at 11:00 a.m. and continues throughout the day until 11:00 p.m. Beginning at 11:00 a.m., downtown will be buzzing with food vendors, local artisans, community and nonprofit booths, live music, family-friendly games, historical displays, vintage vehicles, costume contests, patriotic exhibits, and special promotions from downtown businesses. Whether you're visiting for a few hours or spending the entire day, there's something for every age to enjoy as we celebrate 250 years of America's history together.
Live Music & Entertainment
Enjoy live performances throughout the day from talented local and regional musicians. Bring a lawn chair, relax in the Mariposa County Arts Park, spend time with friends and family, and enjoy the festive atmosphere as music fills downtown all day long.
Food, Shopping & Community
Explore a variety of food vendors, browse handcrafted goods from local artisans, visit community and nonprofit organizations, and support Mariposa's downtown businesses. From festival favorites and sweet treats to one-of-a-kind gifts and local promotions, you'll find plenty to experience throughout the day.
Kids Zone & Family Fun
Families will love the Kids Zone, featuring games, activities, and entertainment designed especially for younger visitors. Children can enjoy hands-on fun while families create lasting memories celebrating America's milestone birthday together.
History, Heritage & Classic Cars
Celebrate our nation's history while discovering Mariposa's rich heritage through historical displays, patriotic exhibits, vintage vehicles, and community showcases that honor both our local roots and America's 250-year journey.
America 250 Parade & First-Ever Drone Show
The excitement continues into the evening with the America 250 Parade stepping off at 7:00 p.m., filling downtown with festive red, white, and blue as community groups, businesses, classic vehicles, and patriotic displays make their way through town.
Then, at 9:00 p.m., don't miss history in the making as Mariposa lights up the night sky with its first-ever patriotic drone show. Produced by Skye Dreams and fully sponsored by Blue Moon Metals, this spectacular aerial performance will be an unforgettable grand finale celebrating America's 250th birthday.

Best Places to Watch the Drone Show
For the best views and synchronized audio, we recommend watching from:
- Main Street between Subway and Pizza Factory (this section of the street will be closed to vehicle traffic)
- The former Frost Shop parking lot
Parking & Complimentary Shuttle Service
Designated public parking areas are available throughout downtown. Please refer to the event map for parking locations.
Complimentary golf cart transportation will be available from designated parking areas to help attendees travel easily throughout the event. Volunteers will be on hand to provide rides between key activity locations.
