Death Investigation in Patterson 

July 7, 2026 – Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on July 5, 2026, at approximately 9:47 p.m., a fire was reported at a residence in the 1100 block of Shearwater Drive in Patterson. When fire personnel arrived, they found the residence fully engulfed in flames. During the fire suppression efforts, firefighters located a deceased individual inside the home.

Fire investigators and detectives assigned to the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit (MCU) responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation.

An autopsy is scheduled for later this week to assist determining the victim’s identity and cause of death. The investigation remains active, and no additional information is available for release at this time.
