Armed Robbery Suspects ArrestedÂ
July 15, 2026 – Clovis Police Department officials report that two 18-year-old men are in custody following
their arrest for robbing a teenager at gunpoint of cash and his shoes on Monday afternoon.
Just after 4:00 p.m. on Monday, Clovis Police officers responded to the area of Shaw and Minnewawa for a report of a prior armed robbery that had occurred in a parking lot. A 17-year-old victim told officers he was walking with several others when one of the individuals brandished a handgun and another robbed him of approximately $600 in cash from his pocket, along with the shoes he was wearing. Officers immediately canvassed the area and collected surveillance footage, but the suspects had fled before police arrived.
Hours later, officers were notified that the suspects and their vehicle had returned to a nearby retail parking lot. Responding officers conducted a high-risk traffic stop and detained the five occupants of the vehicle. Following the investigation, two of the occupants were arrested for the robbery.
Ernest Taylor and Marzette Hanks, both 18-years-old, were booked into the Fresno County Jail on robbery charges, where they remain in custody.
During the investigation, officers recovered the cash stolen during the robbery after searching the area and a nearby home. The handgun used in the crime and the victim's shoes have not yet been recovered. Fortunately, there were no injuries during this incident.
