July 20, 2026 – Soroptimist International of Mariposa recently made a monetary donation which will benefit Mountain Crisis.  The funds will be used for continued maintenance of the Mountain Crisis Safe Houses for domestic violence victims.

Soroptimist is a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment. In addition to participating in international projects, the Mariposa Club achieves this mission locally by giving scholarships to graduating seniors, presenting monetary awards to women that are the heads of their households seeking further education, sponsoring the high school prom dress project “The Elegant Dress Closet”, and donating funds to organizations such as Manna House, a non-profit organization that provides emergency food to all in need and the J.C. Fremont Healthcare District for women’s health issues.
